Lately, I've been sharing behind the scenes video footage on Instagram and our followers have enjoyed them so much. But the 15 second limit makes it difficult to actually show a process, so I'm finally getting around to sharing some footage here on the blog! This isn't as fancy as what I have been dreaming of doing, but I know you'll enjoy it anyway! I hope to share more and better behind the scenes documentation soon.
This is about a 3 minute video of Mary hand carving the bowl of one of our Minimalist Long Handled Measuring Spoons. As you can see, she starts out taking away the bulk of the wood with a little more force by using the mallet to drive the chisel through the wood. After a few minutes, once she has a nice dish carved out, she switches to carving without the mallet. This is part of the process is so peaceful and fluid. It is so relaxing and enjoyable for me to cut through the wood like butter with a razor sharp chisel and watch the wood strip away in perfect curls leaving a glossy smooth interior. If you do it well, very little sanding needs to be done on the inside of the spoon bowl.
I hope this gives you a little more insight into our artistic process and that you enjoy it! Please comment below and let me know what you think! Also, tell me what other parts of the process you'd like to see and perhaps well share it here soon.

This rustic dessert is wonderful for when you want something delectable and a little sweet, but also something substantive and fairly wholesome. It's really just Rustic Triple Berry Cobbler Cake, but it sounds so much classier as Gâteau Rustique aux Trois Baies ... and it really does taste enchanting enough to earn the fancier name.
Lately we have all been working very hard, in different ways, to get everything in order and prepared for the holidays... My task has been to get this site in perfect order, including doing all new product photography. It has been a lot of work, but it has also been really enjoyable and I am so thrilled with the way things are looking around here.
