Old World Journey

November is here...

November is here...

This year has flown by. I decided when we launched the new website that I would try really hard to consistently update the blog, even if all I post is a tiny little update. Some of you are probably laughing, thinking you've heard me say that more than once over the past couple years.

At any rate, I realize that many of you out there don't follow us on social media. I do a fairly good job of keeping our social media followers in the loop about what goes on behind the scenes, our farm life, and any big news... but unfortunately those who don't use social media miss out on a lot of the inspiration and beauty we share. I want to remedy that by making better use of this blog.

Right now, the farm is caught between fall and winter. Above is pictured our "high hay field". There is still so much green everywhere (the locals say that they have never seen the green hang on so long), but we do have pops of bright red and orange everywhere. The mist is thick nearly every morning, and we've had several frosts that have made it seem more like winter around here. We are appreciating every sunny, crisp fall day we get-- I am not anxious for icy mud and bare trees just yet, though I am ready for a new year to roll around.

The pretty little lady pictured below is Bitty Belle. She is one of our spring heifers. In the last year we've grown our cow herd from 6 to 20 head of cattle, which has been a huge accomplishment for us. You, our lovely customers, have played an enormous role in enabling us to do that. We have experienced our first spring on the new farm, Stonewall Spring Farm. We have made thousands of pieces of dreamware here in the new workshop already.

Right now we are in the throes of holiday production (and yes, even though our dreamware is handmade, we have gotten efficient enough to call it serious production though we still don't have any employees and work right from our farm and home). We would love to help make your Christmas extra special this year, so if you are hoping to place an order please do so quickly so we can be sure to get your items made and shipped in time! Our schedule fills up so, so quickly this time of the year and we want to make as many dreams come true as possible.

Thank you all for the love and support you show our family with every order and kind message! More farm and woodshop updates to come soon!

XO, Loran
