An exquisite and unusual copper cassoulet, pot or baking dish with a slightly rounded bottom. It sits quite level and stable. The ornate engravings on sides and top are gorgeous! We've never seen another copper dish quite like this. It is clearly hand made, with a hand hammered finish, hand cut handles and hand rolled rivets. It has been expertly restored for everyday use and re-lined with food safe tin. It could be French made but I suspect based on the design that it is Turkish or Persian handiwork. C. 1850.
Approximately 6" high with lid, and approximately 8" in diameter at the opening.
